The Y Friends Forever program strives to provide values-based activities that help children:
- Develop a close friendship with, and identify with, a parent.
- Gain confidence through acceptance by adults close to them.
- Feel secure in their parents' love and be able to share that love with others.
- Develop a sense of self-worth and usefullness through accountability for, and completion of, assigned tasks.
- Find satisfaction in sharing and playing with other children of the same age.
- Develop new skills.
- Understand the need for rules and develop the ability to take direction.
- Learn to value and accept people for who they are.
