Time is short and kids grow up so soon!
Demands and responsibilities are so great, and free time so scarce, that the average mom or dad and child grow apart without the parents even realizing what is happening.
Since 1926, the Y Friends Forever Program (formerly the Indian Guides & Indian Princesses Programs) has helped parents to commit to spending time with their child - one on one, when
possible. Programs deepen the memories and create a bond with your child through fun activities and events at a crucial, formative time in a child's life.
The Y Friends Forever organization is divided into age groups:
- Challengers: Adults & girls 4th grade & up
- Voyagers: Adults & girls K-4th grade
- Explorers: Adults & boys K-4th grade
- Trail Blazers: Adults & boys 4th grade & up
 Throughout the program, parents have the opportunity to observe their
children interacting with other adults and children and can encourage or discourage behaviors in an informal, comfortable setting. Children have the opportunity to observe parents relating to, and
having fun with, other adults outside their own family. Children get very excited about the individual attention they receive from one parent, and this attention helps build confidence and self-esteem.
