I had searched for a long time during the Cold War years to find a detailed map of the area. The breakup of the Soviet Union eventually made it possible for me to verify that Chocimierz still exists. I figured the turmoil of World War II might have resulted in the village's destruction. Not so! As you can see, it's just a bit north of Kolomyja. Note the new spelling: Chotymyr. |
